The Mineral Titles Online branch has released a new bulletin concerning changes to requirements of Free Miner's and Mineral Tenure Holders in regards to informing private property owners prior to undertaking work on mineral tenure. The new legislation will require that a minimum of eight (8) days written notice be given to private property owners prior to commencing any mining activities.  The new regulations will take effect on June 2, 2008.

Mineral Titles Online has also prepared tools available for tenure holders to research private property owners and a template of the form letter that may be used to communicate with the private property holders.

This information bulletin containing the above-mentioned changes and links to the tools can be downloaded on our website by clicking HERE.  (You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer to view the document.)

The East Kootenay Chamber of Mines will be hosting an important meeting with Rick Conte of Mineral Titles Online on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, 7:00 PM at the Prestige Resort in Cranbrook, regarding claim registration fees, claim exploration levels, work reporting levels, use of cash payment, and other related issues.

We believe that it is imperative that chamber members and all mining stakeholders provide input into any potential changes to the current fee structures and work requirements.

Mr. Conte has provided us questionnaires and background information for anyone who wishes to provide feedback on any proposed changes to the mineral tenure system in British Columbia.

You can review and complete the forms with your suggestions by clicking HERE. You will need Adobe Acrobat Viewer to open the documents.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting!
